On December 17, Catholic Charities hosted its 13th annual Operation Stocking Stuffer holiday party in the St. Vincent's Dining Room. We were able to distribute stockings filled with toys, treats and hygiene items to nearly 800 kids at the event. The food pantry, Kids to Seniors Korner and Resource Network will help distribute an additional 900+ stockings to children in need all over northern Nevada.

The families enjoyed playing games donated by Circus Circus, and were provided with delicious cupcakes made by our volunteers. We had a cookie decorating station, face painting and pictures with Santa. TapSnap also donated its services taking pictures of the families, which they were able to print out for all of our guests to take home. In addition to all of the pre-filled stockings that were donated, we also received a number of new toys thanks to the Breakfast with Santa event hosted by the Atlantis and Cumulus Radio. Our outreach staff will be distributing these toys to families in need that were not able to attend Operation Stocking Stuffer.

To see the joy on each child's face at the event was truly heart-warming. Thank you to everyone who came to help and to the generous members of our community that donated pre-filled stockings and toys! The event would not have been nearly as successful without your support, and because of it there will be lots of happy children this Christmas.
