In the interest of keeping you healthy and safe this year, we are excited to announce an innovative virtual event. Thanks to our community partners, KBUL Country 98.1 and KOLO 8 News Now, starting at sunrise on August 17th we are going to Raise the Roof to Ease Poverty. KBUL on-air personality and Catholic Charities supporter, J.J. Christie will perch atop a local business, braving the elements, until the community meets his fundraising goal of $50,000. He will be joined on the rooftop by KOLO Meteorologist Jeff Thompson who will broadcast the weather live. That evening, we will broadcast our own event via Facebook Live, hosted by Wendy Damonte, from 6:30-7:30 pm highlighting client success stories and our poverty assistance services. We hope you will Save the Date and join us on Facebook Live on August 17 and will enjoy following J.J.’s experience on the roof throughout the day as well. Start following our Facebook page today to receive updates as we draw closer to the 17th. https://www.facebook.com/CatholicCharitiesofNorthernNevada/
In order to make Raise the Roof to Ease Poverty a success, in addition to J.J.’s fundraising goal of $50,000, we need to secure sponsorships and donations of at least $100,000 in order to meet the need for assistance we are experiencing. We need your support. Now, more than ever, we are seeing an increased demand for our services particularly in our Resource Hub for emergency rental and utility assistance and in our Food Pantry as families and individuals looks to extend their diminished income and still provide food for their families.
While we cannot gather in person for our gala, we humbly ask you to consider supporting our virtual event.
