Our St. Marguerite Support Services is tasked with serving those who wonder how they will be able to meet their most basic needs. We embrace each family and individual with a plan to achieve an increased level of self-sufficiency, giving back some of the choices they have lost along the way.
As we realize that while we provide a very wide array of services to those in need, we also rely on support and assistance from many other local not-for-profit agencies in our community. As a Catholic Charities agency, our goal is not to duplicate local services, but rather to target our resources on those “gaps” in services. Our St. Marguerite Support Services staff consults with individuals and families, determines their overall needs, connects people to other services in the community, and then strives to provide those basic needs that do not exist elsewhere. Each year, St. Marguerite Support Services provides direct services to thousands of individuals and families.

Birth Certificates and ID assistance is available at the Fourth Street location only.
We may be able to provide one-time assistance with requesting birth certificates for individuals without income who need it to obtain Nevada identification. We also may be able to provide assistance with obtaining a Nevada-issued identification for individuals without income.

Case managers are available to help connect individuals and families with community resources. Please check our hours of operation listed above.
Our employment program provides resume building, job search assistance,
and a “Workplace Skills for Success” course to enhance interpersonal skills. In
addition, financial literacy and wrap-around services are provided to promote
long term sustainability.
Bus passes or assistance with transportation may be available after meeting with our Career and Financial Coaching director.

The Walking the Walk program at St Marguerite Support Services works toward the goal of uplifting the community through direct referrals to other programs found at Catholic Charities. Our Pathfinders can be found at our client choice pantries in the Reno area (Eureka, Sun Valley, and Moana) and can connect individuals to Catholic Charities' services. Nevada Legal Services provides free consults at SMSS every Tuesdays from 9am-11am.
Legal services include :
Medicare Specialist Lori O’Leary offers free consults Friday mornings from 9am -12noon for senior and disabled individuals to review their Medicare benefits.
