How We Help

Family Stabilization and Recovery services may include:

  • Help during a family an opioid use-related crisis
  • One-on-one case management
  • Parenting classes and support
  • Housing assistance to find or keep a safe home
  • Transportation assistanceSupport for grandparents, relatives, and family friends caring for children
  • Guidance with becoming an approved kinship placement
  • Help with jobs, education, financial empowerment, and family goals
  • Connections to treatment and recovery services

Our goal is to help families feel safe, stable, and supported.

Who Can Receive Help?

The program serves families who live in Washoe County and are in crisis due to opioid use. This may include families and caregivers who are:

  • At risk of becoming involved with child welfare involvement
  • Caring for a relative or friend's children, or wanting to become an approved kinship caregiver
  • Experiencing housing instability or financial hardship
  • Facing unemployment, transportation challenges, behavioral health needs, or poverty
