We are reacting quickly to the needs of our community as we cope with the COVID-19 crisis. We are always privileged to serve the most vulnerable populations in northern Nevada—especially the homeless and working poor through our St. Vincent’s Dining Room, Food Pantry and our Emergency Services through our Resource Hub. But now we are expecting the impact of the virus to expand those we serve. In the coming days and weeks many individuals and families who have never before utilized our services will find that they are in need of the safety net we provide.
The NV Energy Foundation is generously supporting the St. Vincent's Warming Center this winter. Their gift will allow us to open our dining room to those living in overflow shelters and on the street. The warming center will be open 6am-8:30am Monday through Saturday through mid March and will offer a warm refuge with hot drinks and cereals to those who quite literally have nowhere else to stay warm.
DETR (Department of Employment, Training, and Rehabilitation) has a representative in the Resource Hub every Tuesday, from 9:00am-12:00pm. Sierra Nevada Job Corps will be in the Resource Hub during the month of August on Wednesdays from 9:00am -12:00pm.
The grant from the Community Fund will support a potentially life-saving service for Reno’s rapidly increasing homeless population, who are at great risk of hypothermia and other complications from the cold, during the winter months.

Hair Stylists needed for our Heartfelt Haircuts program. Beginning April 15th. We need 5-6 hair Stylists on each date below. Helping people in need feel good. Haircuts located at St Vincent's Dining Hall, 325 Valley Rd from 9 am - 12 noon.
Operation: Easter Basket Sunday 2019 was a complete success. Thank you to all of our amazing basket donors, cookie donor, pancake cooker, volunteers and staff who helped out. We could not host this event on our own.
With the winter weather increasing demand on regional services, Catholic Charities has opened a warming center in the St. Vincent's Dining Room at 325 Valley Road as of Monday, February 25, 2019 from 6 to 9 a.m. as part of #OperationNoFreeze.
