The need for blankets has increased as cold Winter temperatures set in. Our homeless population and many living in poverty need blankets.

With nighttime temperatures dropping and another round of winter storms approaching, Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada is seeing an increase in the need for blankets for the hundreds of people across Reno/Sparks who are sleeping on the streets and asking for help.

“We are seeing an increase in the need for blankets this Winter. We are running low on blankets and need more,” said Marie Baxter, CEO, Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada. “We are asking the community to donate new and gently used blankets to be given to our homeless population and those living in poverty.”

Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada is dedicated to providing support to those in need in the Reno/Sparks community as well as across rural Nevada. They help people of all cultures and beliefs rise up out of poverty and overcome the barriers to self-sufficiency. On average, over 20,000 individuals receive support from Catholic Charities Northern Nevada on a monthly basis.
