More About Operation Resilience

It is because of the courageous efforts of the men and women who serve our country in the armed forces that we’re able to enjoy the many freedoms we have as Americans. Yet, there are thousands of veterans right here in our community who struggle everyday with mental health issues, physical disabilities, drug and alcohol addiction and hunger. But these individuals shouldn’t have to suffer alone. You can help them in their time of need.

Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada and Double Diamond Athletic Club are partnering this holiday season to feed veterans in need. From now until December 7, we’re asking local businesses and organizations to help us collect food for veterans and their families. If you’d like to become a donation collection site, contact Jordan Stiteler at 775-322-7073 ext. 242 or jstiteler@ccsnn.org. You can also take your donations to Double Diamond Athletic Club, located at 9400 Double Diamond Parkway.

All of the food that is donated will be distributed at the Center of Influence, 1095 E. Taylor Street, on December 22.

No one should have to go hungry, especially those who have risked their lives for our country.
