THRIFT STORE CASHIER

Under direction of the Store Manager, performs a multitude of tasks, which include running the register, placing items on the sales floor in appropriate areas, recommending disposal of defective stock, rotation of stock, assisting customers, and answering phone calls. Daily tasks: sets target goals of production. They may be asked to perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.

Essential Functions and Basic Duties:

• Works with sales floor crew to meet sales goals/targets by category
• Hang and tag clothing
• Process customer purchases through register, assist customers 
• Share experiences, answer questions, set a standard for other employees
• Maintain cleanliness on the sales floor
• Open/Close shifts as requested
• Able to assist in other areas

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: High School diploma (GED), or direct experience required
• Experience: 2 years retail processing experience
• Skills/Abilities: Excellent customer service, strong communication/organization skills, ability to multi-task and follow up, ability to train others and observe customers, read/write English (Spanish is a plus)

Physical Requirements:

(Regular>50% of shift, frequent between 25% to 50 %< than 25%)

• Regular periods of standing and walking
• Regular movements required using the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
• Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds
